Why Chinese Montessori

Interestingly, Montessori alumni do include a number of highly creative adults, including American violinist Joshua Bell and Academy-award winning actress Helen Hunt.

Children at each level are given choice and flexibility to explore the classroom environment.  “The scandal of education is that every time you teach something, you deprive a child of the pleasure and benefit of discovery (ibid).

Teachers present concepts in lessons that intentionally pique children’s interests to explore and innovate further in follow-up activities.  A Montessori education and Montessori preschool curriculum supports creativity through the development of independence and critical thinking. Curriculum is not one size fits all.  Children learn to value the creative process not just the product of it, and children who thus develop a confidence in self-expression and a habit of deep thinking are better able to express themselves creatively.

Teachers also take care to discuss students’ work using non-judgmental language in order to help children value their work for the internal satisfaction it creates rather than external praise and reward.

Chinese language learning is what distinguishes our school from others.  Challenging students through language is proven to stimulate brain activity.  Equally important, our school program is a global school that broadens the perspective of children with a Montessori educuation backbone.
